The ION Sol 7 Kite Harness is the middle ground in ION's hardshell range, built for riders who want good back support without giving up freedom of movement. With a flex index of 7, the stiff, 3D pre-shaped Curv_Spine spreads the pull of the kite across your back, while flexible side panels and a low outline let you twist and move through the session.

Performance & Feel
A hardshell harness spreads the pull of the kite across a rigid back panel rather than into a soft band, and the Sol's 3D pre-shaped Curv_Spine does that. It's moulded from ION's Hyper-Foam thermal composite, which keeps the shell light while it holds its shape under load. The flex index tells you how stiff that shell is and at 7, thr SOL Harness is firm enough to support your back when you're powered up, with back and side panels soft enough to let you rotate and move rather than feeling boxed in.
The low outline helps there too, sitting clear of your ribs so you can twist and move freely. A strip of EVA on the inside grips against you or your suit to stop the harness riding up or spinning round mid-session, which is a common gripe.
