Our Test Team Thoughts:
"The Reach has always been a safe recommendation because it does so many things well. The 2025 version feels cleaner and more refined again. It still gives that familiar confidence straight away, but now feels a touch livelier and more direct through the bar. If someone wants one premium kite to handle UK conditions without overthinking it, this is an easy shortlist model."
Performance & Feel
The Reach sits as North’s core all-round model and is the natural choice for riders wanting maximum versatility. It is more forgiving and more crossover-friendly than the Orbit, while still offering strong jumping and looping performance.
It suits a huge range of riders, from beginner+ riders buying their first serious kite through to experienced riders wanting one dependable model for mixed conditions. If your riding includes freeride, boosting, wave sessions, foiling or just whatever the forecast delivers, the Reach fits well.
On the water the Reach feels stable, predictable and easy to trust. Power delivery is smooth, relaunch is straightforward, and the steering is direct without feeling nervous. It turns tighter than many dedicated big-air kites and drifts well, which helps in waves and foiling. Bar pressure stays light enough for longer sessions while still giving clear feedback.
Compared with the North Orbit, the Reach is less focused on absolute big-air performance but easier to access for most riders. It loops well, boosts confidently and recovers smoothly, while offering better drift, tighter turning and broader crossover appeal. If maximum height is the only goal, choose Orbit. If you want one kite for everything, Reach makes more sense.
