Performance & Feel

The NXT sits at the top of Slingshot's wing range, and the Aluula frame is the reason. The leading edge is slimmer tapering from the centre to the tips, which cuts drag when you're foiling upwind or luffing the wing on a wave. It's stiff through the centre and softer towards the wingtips. The front of the canopy stays smooth and rigid to give power when you want it, while the tips twist off in a gust so the wing doesn't feel twitchy.

You can tune how it feels when you pump it up. Slingshot give the leading edge a range of 8 to 11 PSI: the lower end gives a softer, more forgiving ride for strong or gusty days, and higher pressure makes the wing feel sharper and more precise. The strut stays at 10 PSI.

Hand pressure is light and balanced, which you notice most at the end of a long session. Both handles click on and off without tools, so the wing packs down smaller for travel. If you want a lighter, more direct wing than the standard SlingWing, this SlingWing NXT V1 is the step up.
