The Monker is built around a multi-ridge and concave base design that made the Monk such a dependable board. Where conventional channels redirect water flow aggressively, this base guides it more efficiently, keeping the board grippy and upwind-tracking without adding drag or locking it into a stiff, planted feel. The result is a board that holds its edge when you push it but stays loose and fun when you ease off.

The constant curve rocker is the other key piece. Unlike a staged rocker that changes angle depending on where your weight sits, the constant curve keeps the same profile regardless of stance, which means consistent grip and rail pressure whether you're riding back foot heavy into a gust or balanced through a flat-water carve. In chop it smooths things out noticeably.

The construction upgrade over the Monk is real. Basalt fibre has a comparable strength-to-weight ratio to carbon at a more accessible price, and combined with Paulownia Light wood the board comes in genuinely light for the size. Lighter and more responsive than the original construction, but it hasn't lost the comfort.

Size range is worth understanding. The smaller sizes suit lighter riders and are a solid first board. The mid sizes are the core freeride sweet spot. The larger sizes open the board up to heavier riders or anyone looking for an easier light-wind option.
