North Mode Pro 2026 Wing

The North Mode Pro 2026 Wing is for riders who want to ride fast. When it's gusty and you're overpowered it maintains its stiff feel so you can keep driving forward and let the speed build and stay in control. It rewards commitment and it's happiest being ridden hard.

  • High-speed freeride and freestyle wing
  • N-Weave45 airframe, Matrix High-Load canopy
  • Reduced nose radius, flatter dihedral
  • Stiffer leading edge and XL T-Joint
  • ShiftLock track, handles sold separately
  • Composed in gusty, overpowered conditions
  • For advanced riders

Worth knowing: The Mode Pro uses the ShiftLock system for attaching your choice of handles or boom, but neither are included with the wing and are sold separately.

Our Test Team Thoughts

"The Mode Pro 2025 was already North's speed machine, built on a stiff airframe, a taut canopy and high tech materials that made it fast and powerful. The Mode Pro 2026 keeps the same high-performance character but has been refined, with a stiffer centre joint, improved strut dynamics, a refined profile and better load transfer. The 2025 was the racer in the North wing fleet, and the 2026 is that racer fine-tuned into a better everyday high-performance wing."

Performance & Feel

In gusty or overpowered conditions the Mode Pro excels because the frame doesn't flex and snatch and the canopy doesn't deform. Sheet in and the response is immediate, which makes it easy to place precisely for a jump, and the stiffness turns into height and float.

For 2026 North has concentrated on stiffness at the joints. The XL T-Joint where the leading edge meets the strut has been structurally reinforced and increased in diameter. This is the connection that tends to deform first under heavy load, so stiffening it makes the whole frame feel more direct. The profile of the nose radius on the leading edge has been reduced and the dihedral flattened slightly, both aimed at cutting drag and generating forward thrust at higher apparent wind speeds. An infill panel holds the profile shape when it's loaded up. The airframe is N-Weave45, a high-tensile woven fibre with a 45 degree laminate for biaxial and torsional control, with Carbon UDi tapes running the length of the leading edge.

Key Features

  • N-Weave45 airframe: high-tensile woven fibre with a 45 degree laminate for biaxial and torsional control for a stiffer, lighter frame
  • Matrix High-Load N-HTRS canopy: stretch-resistant canopy material
  • Carbon UDi leading edge: patent-pending technology from North Sails, with anti-deflection carbon tapes running the length of the leading edge for greater snapback and more efficient pumping
  • Stiffer leading edge and XL T-Joint: the larger-diameter T-joint is structurally reinforced for more direct power transfer and a profile that resists deformation
  • True Form Profile: a reduced nose radius improves speed and wind range, with an infill panel helping hold shape under load
  • Flatter dihedral: thin, low-drag profile sections and a flatter dihedral generate forward thrust, lift and stability at higher apparent wind speeds
  • Ergonomic strut: reshaped for 2026 to sit more comfortably in the hands and reduce arm fatigue
  • Wingtip seam protection: the closing seam at the wingtip is rolled inward to shield it from abrasion
  • ShiftLock Modular Track System: position any size ShiftLock carbon handle, J-Handle or boom along the track to set the balance point
