Speed is the first thing you notice. The Mode Pro holds its shape when you load it. Sheet in for a jump and you get the same thing vertically, with the stiffness turning into height and a longer float on the way down. Through a powered carve it stays calm in your hands.

That comes from the airframe. North builds the whole frame in N-Weave45, a low-elongation woven fibre laid up as a cross-ply with the fibres at 45 degrees, which controls how far the frame twists under load. Carbon UDi tapes inside the leading edge add anti-deflection stiffness on top of that. The Matrix N-HTRS canopy is chosen for low stretch so canopy and frame tension stay matched as the wind builds, and the Radiate Geometric Panel Layout with load diffusers spreads that tension evenly. The profile runs thinner through the front sections with more depth through the centre, which is what holds the speed across a wider wind range, while a compact outline with reduced wingspan and rounded tips keeps the wingtips clear of the water through gybes.

ShiftLock is new for 2025 and it's the reason the wing arrives without handles. The track lets you mount ShiftLock carbon handles or a boom wherever the balance point suits you, and carry one set between wings if you own more than one. Against the Nova, which turns up ready to fly with its boom already fitted, the Mode Pro asks for more setup and more outlay, and gives you a faster and stiffer wing in return.
