Performance & Feel

The SlingWing is Slingshot's all-round wing, and the V5 is the version that picks up the high-tension design first developed on the SlingWing NXT. Compared to the V4, Slingshot's aim was more balance, more power and a wing that was easier to fly. The tapered frame pulls the canopy tight from the centre out to the tips, which cuts drag and flutter. You feel that most when you're luffing the wing on a wave or coming through a tack: it sits where you leave it.

The Uni Handle is the other big change with the move away from handles.  With a continuous grip along the boom you can slide your hands forward or back to trim as the wind shifts, and there's always something to grab when you're switching hands mid-gybe. It gives a direct connection to the wing, which helps when you're pumping onto foil.

It's made to stay that way too. Code 95 materail along the trailing edge and the T-Grid panel layout are there to stop the canopy stretching over time, so the wing keeps its aught feel.
