Performance & Feel

The SlingWing is Slingshot's all-round wing and the V6 follows on from the V5, keeping its tight, high-tension canopy feel. The changes from the V5 are in the detail. The centre strut is now made in segments, which lets Slingshot hold the canopy closer to its intended profile, and the wingtips sit at a lower angle to the wind. On the water that shows up as a wing that locks in and drives upwind once you're on foil, then stays composed in gusts.

Transitions are easy as the V6 wing carries speed through a turn, stays balanced as you switch hands on the boom, and Slingshot have worked on stopping the tips tucking/dipping through tacks and Gibes. Fibreglass battens help the trailing edge hold its shape, so the pull stays predictable.

The boom now fits with a new ClickConnect system so it can be put on and taken off without tools. The canopy uses Slingshot's 4x4 ripstop, a stiff, hard-wearing material with panels laid out to resist bagging out as the wing ages. If you want one wing for cruising, rising swell and progressing your transitions, the Slingshot SlingWing V6 is a great choice.
