AK Compact V1 Foilboard

The AK Compact V1 is a short, manoeuvre-focused wingfoil board built around one idea: concentrate the volume, keep the swing weight down, and you get a board that's easy to throw around without giving anything away. For intermediate to advanced riders looking for the ultimate in low swing weight to ride hard, jump big and have no restrictions to your on-foil performance, with volume available for landings.

  • Freestyle and performance wingfoiling
  • Carbon Innegra construction, lightweight and impact-resistant
  • Parallel outline, wide nose for directional stability
  • High apex rail for stability without sacrificing turning
  • Concave deck, lower centre of gravity
  • Intermediate+ riders

Performance & Feel

The Compact V1 was built on a simple observation: freestyle riders were using tiny boards, 25L to 50L, to keep swing weight down and agility up. The Compact brings higher volumes in the same small shapes, so you can jump, freestyle and push your performance wing foiling without the punishment of a sinker underfoot, and the volume in reserve when you need it.

AK uses a high apex rail which, on the surface, gives you the stability of a wider board, but once you're foiling and into turns, lets you carve as if the board were four inches narrower. The parallel outline and thick profile pack volume into a short length, keeping swing weight low so pumping and turning stay easy. The wide nose holds volume up front, keeping the nose above the water when getting started and on landings, while spreading volume evenly between nose and tail for directional stability without making the board feel sluggish once flying.

The bottom shape is built for freestyle foiling. The rounded nose and softer rails recover from touchdowns cleanly, the single concave through the mid-section feeds into hard tail rails for a fast water release, and the kick tail tilts the nose up for a clean exit and reduces tail drag when pumping. The concave deck puts buoyancy higher on the rails for a stable platform before take-off and keeps you connected to the foil underfoot. On the water that even volume distribution makes the board reassuringly pitch stable, so foot changes and critical jibes stay manageable, and on harder landings it plants rather than skipping out.

Carbon Innegra construction covers a fused EPS core with a full carbon Innegra top deck and wood sandwich in the standing areas. Innegra is inherently impact-resistant, absorbing and dissipating energy through hard landings and rocky beach launches without adding weight. It's a tough construction that holds up to the punishment of serious foiling and comes back for more.

Key Features

  • Carbon Innegra construction: full carbon Innegra top deck over a fused EPS core, wood sandwich standing areas for stiffness and low weight
  • Heavy-duty foil connection: high-density load plate carries the foil load directly to the top deck for a direct connection between foil and rider
  • High apex rail: stability of a wider board with the carving ability of a narrower one; hard release in the tail, softer in the nose
  • Wide nose and parallel outline: volume held up front for directional stability on the water and nose-up landings
  • Thick profile: volume packed into a short length, keeping swing weight low for easy pumping and turning
  • Concave deck: buoyancy placed higher on the rails for a stable platform; lower centre of gravity for better foil connection
  • Kick tail: tilts the nose up for clean water release, reduces tail drag when pumping
  • Single concave mid-section: maximises planing speed into hard tail rails for fast water release on partial touchdowns
  • Rounded nose and softer rail entry: touchdowns recover cleanly without the nose sticking
