AK Compact V2 Foilboard

The AK Compact V2 is the same manoeuvre-focused wingfoil board concept as the V1, now refined and available in six sizes from 36L to 105L. Concentrate the volume, keep the swing weight down, and you get a board that's easy to throw around on foil without giving anything away. Reflex Carbon Innegra construction is the headline upgrade: the same impact-resistant character, stiffer and more responsive than before.

  • Freestyle and performance wingfoiling
  • Reflex Carbon Innegra construction, lightweight and impact-resistant
  • Parallel outline, wide nose for directional stability
  • High apex rail for stability without sacrificing turning
  • Concave deck, lower centre of gravity
  • Intermediate+ riders

Performance & Feel

The Compact concept hasn't changed: bring higher volumes into short, low-swing-weight shapes so you can jump, freestyle and push your wing foiling without the punishment of riding a sinker, and with volume in reserve when you need it. The V2 builds on that with Reflex Carbon Innegra, a construction that blends Innegra fibre with conventional carbon for a shell that's inherently impact-resistant, absorbing and dissipating energy through hard landings and rocky launches without adding weight. Underneath, a fused EPS core carries a full carbon Innegra top deck and wood sandwich in the standing areas, and the heavy-duty high-density load plate takes the foil load directly to the deck so nothing is lost in flex between foil and rider.

The shape does the same job it always has. The high apex rail is where it starts: on the surface it gives you the stability of a wider board, but once you're on foil and into turns it lets you carve as if the board were four inches narrower. The parallel outline and thick profile pack volume into a short length, which keeps swing weight low enough that pumping and turning stay easy. The wide nose holds plenty of volume up front so the board sits nose-up on landings and stays directionally stable at both low and high speeds, making the board more pitch stable through foot changes and critical jibes, and on harder landings it plants rather than skipping out.

When you do touch down, the rounded nose and softer rail entry recover cleanly without sticking, the single concave through the mid-section feeds into hard tail rails for a fast release, and the concave deck keeps you connected to the foil underfoot throughout. The kick tail handles the exit, tilting the nose up for a clean release from the water and reducing tail drag when pumping.

The 36L and 46L are firmly the performance end, for experienced foilers comfortable on small boards. The 74L and 85L are the freestyle sweet spot. If you're coming from the V1, the V2 is a direct step up in construction without changing what makes the shape work.

Key Features

  • Reflex Carbon Innegra construction: Innegra blended with carbon fibre over a fused EPS core, with wood sandwich standing areas for stiffness and impact resistance
  • Heavy-duty foil connection: high-density load plate carries the foil load directly to the top deck
  • High apex rail: stability of a wider board on the surface, carving ability of a narrower one on foil
  • Wide nose and parallel outline: volume held up front for directional stability and nose-up landings
  • Thick profile: volume packed into a short length for low swing weight and easy pumping
  • Concave deck: buoyancy higher on the rails for a stable platform and better foil connection underfoot
  • Kick tail: tilts the nose up for clean water release, reduces tail drag when pumping
  • Single concave mid-section into hard tail rails: fast water release on partial touchdowns
  • Rounded nose and softer rail entry: clean touchdown recovery without the nose sticking
