ION Seek Amp 4/3 Front Zip Wetsuit
The ION Seek Amp 4/3 Front Zip is the most flexible suit ION makes and you feel it the moment you put it on. New in 2024 the neoprene has a change in density, giving it even more stretch and holding that stretch for longer. A minimal-panel cut and Hot_Stuff 2.0, the stretchiest thermal lining in ION's range, make for a very comfortable fit. The 4/3 is the colder water thickness but depending on how you feel the cold, the suit will keep you warm from spring through to autumn.
- For all watersports in cooler water
- Front zip entry
- Stretchy I_foam neoprene with improved stretch retention
- Minimal panel design and Sweep_Cut shoulders
- Hot_Stuff 2.0 lining with a larger Plasma_Plush areas
- Maximum stretch and freedom of movement
Our Test Team Thoughts
"We've found the Seek Amp 4/3 is as warm as some 5/4 suits from other brands, and as warm as ION's own 5/4 Element. One of us is happy riding his 4/3 Seek Amp right up to the Christmas break each year."
Performance & Feel
The Seek Amp sits at the top of ION's wetsuit range, built around one thing above all: flexibility. The 4/3 is its cold-water version, the same flexibility-first suit with the extra warmth for autumn, winter and spring. Fewer panels, a continuous run of neoprene across the front and back, and the seam-free Sweep_Cut shoulder mean there's a lot of flexibility. For 2024 the foam density is more consistent, which adds more stretch again and, just as usefully, holds that stretch as the suit ages.
With 4mm through the core and 3mm in the arms and legs, the 4/3 has the warmth for cold water, and the Seek Amp's linings make the most of it. The lightweight I_foam neoprene traps more air in its structure than standard foam, Hot_Stuff 2.0 lines most of the suit with ION's plushiest, stretchiest thermal lining, and the Plasma_Plush 2.0 panel now covers a larger area for quick-drying warmth. Silk_Stuff lines the rest of the suit and feels soft next to the skin. The neoprene also takes in Oyster Shell Powder and Eco Carbon Black as part of a more environmentally considered manufacture.
The front zip seals across the chest. Dry_Grid lining absorbs up to 30% less water, so the suit stays lighter and chills you less by evaporation. Seal_Tite cuffs keep water ingress down.
