Performance & Feel

The Static is the most affordable line ION make, built around comfort and the essentials rather than top-end warmth or performance. The 3/2 is the full-suit member of the range: 3mm of neoprene over the core for warmth, 2mm through the arms and legs for free movement, aimed at the warmer months and warm water rather than cold winter sessions.

It's made from ION's S_Type neoprene, a limestone-based foam that gives good warmth and stretch, bonded with a water-based Aqua-Alpha glue, so the suit lands easier on the environment than an oil-based, solvent-glued build. A nylon lining sits soft against the skin and keeps you free to move, and the flatlock seams are sewn flat so they sit comfortably against you and flex with the suit.
