A hardshell harness is designed to carry the kites pull through the back panel. It's moulded from ION's Curv thermal composite, which keeps the shell light and keeps its shape when you load it up. At a flex index of 10 it sits in the medium to stiff bracket, firm enough to give you real support when you're powered, paired with a high outline that supports your back.

Where a stiff shell can feel like it boxes you in tightly, the flexible side panels keep the Nova Curv 10 open to movement, letting you rotate and commit to bigger, more radical moves. A strip of EVA on the inside grips against your suit to stop the harness riding up or spinning round mid-session. It's a harness for riders who want firm, targeted support and still want to move freely in it.
