Performance & Feel

The Star sits at the base of Mystic's wetsuit range and it's the suit to look at if you want winter warmth on a budget. MX2 is Mystic's essential neoprene, chosen for a balance of stretch, rebound and durability and holds up to regular use.

Warmth comes from the Fox Fleece lining through the chest, back and upper thighs. Big loops in the fabric hold air against you for warmth and hold less water, so the suit dries quicker between sessions. Seams are glued and blind-stitched with junction taping inside, which reinforces the points where seams meet.  An Aquabarrier is printed across the collarbone to stop water working in between the overlapping front zip panels, and the Glideskin neck seals smoothly without rubbing.

Hex-Tech kneepads in a 4-way stretch fabric take the wear of kneeling. Aquaflush drainage on the lower legs lets water out of the suit, and non-slip cuffs at the wrists and ankles hold the openings in place. As a 5/3 it's a winter suit for UK water, and a sensible first winter suit or a spare to keep in the van.
