North Orbit Ultra 2027 Kite

The North Orbit Ultra 2026 is the fastest, most direct kite in North's Orbit line, built for riders chasing the sharpest end of big air. It sits further forward in the wind window than the standard Orbit, so the kite comes alive the instant you put input in through your bar and the kite catches you quicker on the way down from a loop. If you're already comfortable pushing height and want the speed and precision to match, this is where North's Orbit engineering and design hits the peak.

  • Big air and freeride, top of the Orbit range
  • N-U80 composite airframe: UHMWPE weave with PET laminate
  • Ultra-thin leading edge and struts
  • 6-point bridle with high-velocity lines
  • Forward, cambered profile for stability when overpowered
  • Fast, snappy steering with dynamic recovery
  • Advanced riders

Performance & Feel

The first thing you'll notice is how far forward the Ultra flies. Where a lot of kites need power to feel alive, this one is already moving, already responsive, before you've committed to anything. That translates directly into loops: the kite reacts to the bar instantly, comes round fast, and catches you with less of the pause riders normally brace for. Boosts feel the same way, with the kite loading and releasing lift quicker than the standard Orbit.

That speed comes from the N-U80 airframe. Swapping in this UHMWPE weave with a PET laminate lets North run a genuinely slimmer leading edge and struts without losing the rigidity a kite needs at speed, and the directional stiffness gives it a progressive twist rather than an abrupt one, so steering builds earlier and lighter under your hands. The 6-point bridle exists to support that slimmer LE, holding the frame's shape and keeping response consistent as you push into the top of the wind range, and the high-velocity bridle lines are thinner and lower-drag to help offset the weight of the extra attachment points. A forward, cambered profile and a slightly higher aspect ratio than the standard Orbit round it out, adding stability when you're overpowered and a snappier, more dynamic feel through recovery.

None of this makes the Ultra a forgiving kite in the way the standard Orbit is. It's built around outright speed and precision for a rider who already knows what they're doing at the top end. If you want the same big air platform with an easier, more forgiving character, the standard 2026 Orbit is the better place to start. If you're chasing the fastest, most direct version of that platform, the Ultra is it.

Key Features

  • N-U80 Composite UPE Airframe: UHMWPE weave with a PET laminate inside, giving directional stiffness with torsional flex for earlier, lighter steering response
  • Low Drag Slim LE: a thinner leading edge for faster flight, more direct turning, stronger vertical lift and better low-end power
  • Forward Draft Profile: a more forward, cambered shape for stable, consistent performance when overpowered
  • Contoured PTP2 Panel: a zigzag-shaped transition panel that smooths the profile and reduces tension across the seams from leading edge to canopy
  • 6-Point Bridle: supports the slimmer LE and holds the airframe's rigidity for controlled, consistent response at the top end
  • High-Velocity Bridle Lines: thinner, lower-drag primary lines that help offset the added weight of the extra bridle points
  • High Lift Profile: a slightly higher aspect ratio than the standard Orbit for faster flight, snappier steering and more dynamic recovery
