Deployment is where the Ranger earns its keep. The short bridles mean there's very little to untangle, so when you deploy it, it opens and it pulls hard enough to self inflate and get you up on foil. Once you're riding, the Depower Tab sits midway along the fluoro yellow leading edge bridle line, within easy reach, and pulling it dumps the power like a handbrake.

D-Rib is North's own approach to canopy support. Diagonal ribs inside the canopy spread the load across the wing, which does two things, it cuts the number of bridle lines needed and it keeps the canopy holding its profile when you depower rather than letting it distort. The canopy is a 40gsm single skin, chosen to balance weight against durability, with braided colour-coded Dyneema bridle lines so you can identify them at a glance when you're deploying. The black leading edge gives you an obvious reference for orienting the wing before flight, and the bar is light enough to fly comfortably one-handed if you're connected to a harness.

The Ranger is a downwind specialist and upwind ability is limited by design, so it isn't the parawing for riding out and back from a single point. That's the Rover's job. What the Ranger does best is: deploy, get up on foil, stash, ride swell, repeat.
