North Sonar HA Front Wing

The North Sonar HA (High Aspect) Front Wing is North's highest-performance front wing and has been engineered for maximum foiling speed and efficiency.

  • North's highest-performance front wing series
  • Engineered for maximum speed and efficiency
  • For kite foiling, wing foiling, prone surf, tow-in surf and downwind
  • High aspect ratio, short chord and thin profile for minimal drag
  • Refined wingtips prevent ventilation on tip breach
  • Size range from HA550 to HA1450
  • For intermediate to advanced riders

Performance & Feel

The HA Series is built for speed and everything about the design serves that goal. The high aspect ratio, short chord length and thin profile section combine to cut hydrodynamic drag significantly, so once you're up and riding, it takes minimal pump and power to keep up speed. That efficiency does however come with a trade-off in that stall speed runs higher so this is a wing that rewards riders who already have their timing and technique dialled in.

The span of the wing works to help through turns, giving you stability and a slightly longer turn radius than a lower aspect front wing of the same size. The refined wingtips are the standout detail: they're shaped to avoid ventilation when you breach the tip, which means you can carve tighter radius turns at higher speeds without the wing losing bite or bleeding off speed mid-turn.

Sizing runs wide. The smaller sizes generate maximum efficiency and lift for high-speed wing foiling, racing and kite foiling, where less planing surface means a higher stall speed but a faster, more direct feel. The mid sizes are the core wing foiling and prone surf range, with excellent lift at high speed. The larger sizes are built for dock starts, pumping to connect wave after wave, coastal runners and stealing wakes. For downwind work, the HA Series suits lighter or more experienced riders chasing faster-moving ocean swells further out, where higher board speed opens up more efficient lines.

Key Features

  • High aspect ratio design: short chord length and thin profile section, cutting drag significantly for top-end speed
  • Ventilation-free wingtips: refined tip shape avoids ventilation on tip breach, letting you carve tighter radius turns at higher speed without losing speed
  • Minimal pump required: an efficient foil section that holds glide with very little input once up to speed
  • Wide size range: HA550 to HA1450, covering everything from high-speed racing and kite foiling through to dock starts and downwind foiling
  • Higher stall speed: which is the trade-off inn the HA Series' top-end efficiency against North's MA Series
