North Sonar SF Surf Front Wing

The North Sonar SF Surf Front Wing is built for effortless pumping and surf-style carving. It;s equally at home in prone surf, wing surfing, downwind runs and wake-surfing, delivering the same glide as North's HA Series but across a much lower speed range.

  • Effortless pumping and surf-style carving
  • For prone surf, wing surfing, downwind, pumping and wake-surfing
  • Medium-high aspect ratio with a super low stall speed
  • Ventilation-free tip breaching
  • Size range from SF530 to SF1230
  • Suits riders from forgiving beginner to advanced foilers

Performance & Feel

The SF Series is tuned for forgiveness at low speed rather than outright pace. The foil section is deliberately insensitive to changes in angle of attack, so you don't need expert technique or perfectly timed pumping to keep the glide going. If you feel it about to stall, one pump gets you gliding again rather than dropping you off the foil. That forgiveness comes paired with a refined balance of roll stability and manoeuvrability, giving you confidence through pumping and take-offs while still letting you drive powerful rail-to-rail carves and lay down banking turns when you want to push it.

The Centre of the wing sits further back on the fuselage than other North front wings, sharpening turning response, though it does mean you may need to move your mast further forward on your tracks to compensate. Span stays similar across the size range, so the ride feel carries through consistently whether you're on the smallest or largest size.

NB. For pairing, North recommends the Surf "S" Series stabilisers, engineered to operate at the same slower speeds as the SF wings themselves.

Key Features

  • Evolved foil section: super low stall speeds for effortless pumping and sustained glide at slower speeds
  • Forgiving on angle of attack: one pump gets you back gliding if you're about to stall, without needing expert technique
  • Refined roll stability and manoeuvrability: confidence through pumping and take-offs, with the ability to drive powerful rail-to-rail carves
  • Ventilation-free tip breaching: push harder into banking turns without losing lift
  • Rearward wing position: sharper turning response, may require moving your mast further forward in the track versus other North wings
  • Consistent span across sizes: the same ride feel carries through the whole range
  • Size range: SF530 to SF1230, pairs with North's Surf "S" Series stabilisers for matched low-speed performance
