Performance & Feel

The Alpha has always been Ozone's benchmark single strut kite and the V3 Ultra-X pushes that further with a genuine overhaul of the materials it's made of. Revamped with 125 gram Dacron on the leading edge and strut, paired with a lighter weight canopy materials makes this one of the lightest and highest performing single strut kites out there. That lightness is what defines how it flies: power comes through in a steady, controlled pull in flight rather than sudden pulses, so the kite responds well to harder steering input.

The Continuous Curve Leading Edge shape carries over from the V2, with each segment curved into one smooth arc from tip to tip instead of straight sections joined at angles, working with Transversal Canopy Shaping to keep drag down and the lift-to-drag ratio up. On the water that translates into light, smooth steering with a lively lift overhead and remarkable stability even with slack lines at the edge of the wind window. Whether you're working on transitions, dark-slides, rotations or stringing together soft kite loops and downloops, the pull stays constant and predictable, which makes progression easier to commit to.

That efficiency is what makes the Alpha such a strong foiling and light wind performer. Turning is tight with a smooth glide back up through the wind window, even in the lulls, so foilers and wave riders can push hard in marginal conditions or hang back and ride at a more relaxed pace.
