Performance & Feel

The Zephyr's light wind power starts with its shape. Every leading edge segment is curved to form a single smooth arc from tip to tip, rather than joining straight sections at angled joints. Add to that transversal canopy which gives less turbulent airflow which means a better lift-to-drag ratio, which matters more on a lightwind kite. Ultra-X materials do the rest. The whole kite comes in 17% lighter than the outgoing V7, built around a 125g performance Dacron that's 20% lighter and stiffer than standard for a tighter canopy and a crisper response, a 46g double ripstop Teijin canopy cloth that's 17% lighter than a standard triple ripstop, and reduced-diameter sheathed Dyneema bridles cutting parasitic drag further still.

The result is a 17m that behaves and flies like a 13m. Bar pressure stays light, stability holds up well in marginal, lightwind conditions, and once you're up and planing the Zephyr keeps accelerating forward so you can ride comfortably still if the wind builds.

Fast Flow One-Pump inflation gets you set up and packed away with a single point of inflation and deflation, and like every Ozone kite, the Zephyr runs a 4-line pulley-less system for that same direct, pulley-free feel across the range.
