Reedin HyperModel 2024 Kite

The Reedin HyperModel 2024 Kite is Reedin's flagship performance kite, built from the DNA of the SuperModel platform and hypercharged with a full Aluula frame. That single material change IS the story. The HyperModel is up to 25% lighter than a same size SuperModel HTF, with a stiffer structure that doesn't need a fifth strut to hold its shape under load. The result catches you earlier out of a loop, climbs faster, and glides longer on the way back down. It's the SuperModel with the volume turned up to 11.

  • Big air, freeride, waves, freestyle and foil crossover
  • Full Aluula frame construction
  • Reduced leading edge diameter, reworked arc shape
  • Up to 25% lighter than a SuperModel HTF
  • Faster loops, earlier catches out of loops and extended glide
  • Suits all rider levels but really suits Intermediate+ and Advanced riders

Our Test Team Thoughts

"We flew the 9m test kite we had brought in in 25-30 knots. Wow, the kite flew so fast and was very responsive. it was such a confidence builder when looping and was quick to catch you and bring you back to the water with control. Love this kite!"

Performance & Feel

The HyperModel sits at the top of Reedin's kite range, built as the high-performance version of the SuperModel platform rather than a separate design. Built around an Aluula frame which is a lighter and stiffer material than Dacron.  The result is up to 25% less weight than a SuperModel HTF, and that weight saving is what unlocks everything else: a kite that catches you earlier out of a loop, holds glide longer on the way up, and needs less wind to get moving.

The frame itself is built entirely from Aluula including through the struts, and it's stiff enough that Reedin have been able to drop the fifth strut which comparable big air kites would normally need for the same stability. A narrower leading edge diameter, a tuned arc shape and a direct bridles all work together to sharpen turning.

On the water this all translates into a genuinely wide performance window. The reduced weight means better light-wind performance and a lower stall speed, while the stiffer frame keeps things settled when it's windy and you're pushing hard. Drift is strong too, holding consistent line tension through waves so you can line up more turns, and the same lightness that helps in light air also lets you foil on a smaller kite than you'd otherwise need. It's still built around the same stable, predictable flight characteristics as the SuperModel, so the extra performance doesn't come at the cost of confidence.

Key Features

  • Full Aluula frame: lighter and stiffer than Dacron construction, stable enough to drop the fifth strut a comparable big air kite would need
  • Up to 25% lighter than a SuperModel HTF: earlier catches out of loops, more glide, and better low-end power
  • Reduced leading edge diameter: sharper, more direct turning
  • Reworked arc shape and retuned bridle: faster turning without losing smooth power delivery through the turn
  • Strong drift and low stall speed: consistent line tension through waves, easier relaunch and light-wind performance
  • SuperModel-derived flight characteristics: stable, predictable handling yet with a performance step up
