The Reedin HyperModel 2025 Kite is a ground-up redesign of Reedin's flagship big air kite in partnership with Brainchild.  Rather than as a refinement of the 2024 Hypermodel. The result is a kite that's faster, lighter and more direct through the bar, with a welded leading edge construction which is like a single section rather than a series of stitched segments. It's not a kite for everyone: it rewards an active riding style and riders who want to push their level fast, with explosive lift, huge hangtime and loops that catch early and predictably.

Performance & Feel

For 2025 Reedin carried out a re-design with Brainchild, a manufacturing partner specialising in advanced kite construction. In-house designer Damien Girardin worked alongside Ralf Grösel, a designer to rebuild the kite around Brainchild's PROWELD leading edge. Instead of the reinforced, stitched segments used in a traditional leading edge, each of the eighteen sections is welded together into what behaves like a single continuous piece. That cuts out a huge amount of reinforcement material, saving weight while giving a more direct, homogenous twist through the whole leading edge.

The canopy carries a new Crossmixed construction to match: stiff Hardflyte through the centre sections for maximum lift and the highest possible angle of attack, with softer Teijin T9933 at the wingtips to keep the turns fast. The bridles have been  changed to a fixed system with no pulleys made from thinner but stronger Dyneema all tuned to deliver plenty of loft alongside serious depower.

In the air the kite sits further forward in the wind window, which is great for lift and makes take-offs easier and gives you more control in the air to set up and land your jumps and tricks. Loops are explosive but predictable, with a smooth, building pull through the turn rather than a hard yank, so the catch comes early and the whole rotation feels controlled rather than rushed. It holds a steady low-end and handles gusts well too, which keeps it composed even when conditions aren't good.
