Reedin Snack Pack

The Reedin Snack Pack is the board that stops you having to choose between riding a Twintip or surfboard. Most kiters pick one and leave half the ocean unridden. The Snack Pack rides like a twintip upwind and off kickers, and like a surfboard when the waves roll through. A twintip rider can step straight on it and ride without having to think about what's under their feet and a directional rider will feel immediately at home. Same session, same board.

  • Twintip and surfboard hybrid
  • Full carbon construction, lightweight and strong
  • Surfboard outline, rail and rocker, bidirectional like a twintip
  • Bottom channels for upwind grip and precise bottom turns
  • Wide stance for surf-style top turns
  • Intermediate to advanced twintip riders, or any directional rider
  • Fits Reedin SuperBindings or Toasties (available separately)

Our Test Team Thoughts

"Reedin set out to answer one question: do I kite with my twintip or my surfboard today? With the Snack Pack, you genuinely don't have to choose. It handles like a twintip when you want to jump, and like a surfboard when the waves arrive. It's also a brilliant way to transition from twintip to a full-on surfboard if wave riding is where you're heading. Size-wise, we have found that the 146 is a brilliant size for most riders."

Performance & Feel

The Snack Pack is Reedin designer Damien Girardin's passion project — a board born from the frustration of watching kiters either ignore the waves on the way out or ignore the kickers on the way back in. The shape takes the outline, rails and rocker of a surfboard and makes it bidirectional, so you can load the edge and send it like a twintip, then link straight into a bottom turn when a wave shows up.

Coming from a twintip, the transition is quicker than you'd expect. The grip comes from fins and rails rather than tip channels, so the feel underfoot is different — fuller rails that float over chop rather than cutting through it, a wider stance that puts your back foot closer to the fins for control through turns. Upwind performance is surprisingly strong, the wide centre section giving plenty of surface to hold an edge. The board doesn't flex much, which keeps it stable at speed and predictable on high-speed landings. For a directional rider, the board feels immediately familiar — it carves, drives through turns and behaves the way a kite surfboard should.

On a wave it earns its reputation. The front-side carve lets you lean on the front foot and dig the rail the way you would on a directional waveboard. Top turns have real drive. The nose geometry saves you from pearling on touchdowns, the tail releases cleanly, and the bottom channels keep precision through turns at speed. For the twintip rider curious about waves but put off by how demanding a full surfboard feels to learn on, the Snack Pack is a genuinely useful bridge, you stay on familiar footing while building the feel for rail-driven turns. Full carbon construction handles wave turns and kiteloop landings without complaint, keeping the board light and strong throughout.

Sizes run from 142cm to 150cm. Large by twintip standards, but the volume is what makes the wave riding work. The Snack Pack accepts standard twintip bindings, so if you're already riding Reedin SuperBindings or Toasties, they'll mount straight on. Both are available separately in our Reedin accessories range.
