Reedin SuperModel A.F.T. 2026 Kite

The Reedin SuperModel A.F.T. 2026 Kite is the next chapter of Reedin's do-it-all platform, and this year the change starts right from the leading edge. The A.F.T stands for Aerolite Frame Technology, which replaces the two-material HTF constructions with a single material that does both jobs at once.  Stiff enough to hold the leading Edge arc under load and flexible enough to allow the tips to turn fast. The kite is lighter again too, and reworked bridles make it easier to fly and more responsive than ever, whether that's your first proper session out or your two-hundredth. Freeride, big air, waves, freestyle or foil: the SuperModel keeps doing what it's always done, just with a cleaner, lighter, faster platform underneath it.

  • All-round freeride, big air, waves, freestyle and foil crossover
  • A.F.T. Aerolite Frame Technology leading edge
  • Reworked bridles and rebalanced tow-point
  • Lighter build than any SuperModel before it
  • Easier vertical take-offs, more forgiving in gusts
  • Suits all rider levels

Our Test Team Thoughts

"As well as the new A.F.T. kite looking great in the sky with the new colour schemes and graphics, these are just a dream to fly. Responsive yet stable when you park it. Super lift, boost, and hang time. A great all-round kite again, one that a beginner can fly and enjoy the experience, right through to intermediate and advanced riders having the times of their lives. Well done, Reedin, keep up the good work."

Performance & Feel

For 2026, Reedin have gone after the one material trade-off that's shaped every SuperModel so far. While the HTF range used two different materials in the leading edge, the A.F.T uses Dacron through the centre for arc support, and a softer FlexLite Dacron at the tips for fast turning. Aerolite is stiff along one axis, holding the arc shape under load exactly where HTF's centre section did, but it twists freely along the other.

The A.F.T kite is lighter again this year over previous SuperModels which is a the result of Reedin going over construction piece by piece using lessons learned from Reedin's work with Brainchild's construction techniques. The bridles have been re worked too, stronger but thinner lines and tuned anchor points take the kite more forgiving in gusty conditions.

The character underneath all of it hasn't changed. The SuperModel is still built to feel like an extension of your hands, arms and body, the kind of kite where you always know exactly where it is and what it's doing without having to think about it. That's what lets it cover freeride, big air, waves, freestyle and foiling equally well with consistent power through the turn, precise control, and a wide enough wind range that the kite rarely feels like the limiting factor in the session.

Key Features

  • A.F.T. (Aerolite Frame Technology): single-material leading edge that's stiff for arc support and flexible for fast turning, replacing the previous two-material HTF construction
  • Lighter build: refined construction and reinforcements shave more weight without a price increase
  • Reworked bridles: more forgiving in gusts and improved depower
  • FlexStrut Lite struts: 90gsm ultralight struts for smoother flex into the canopy
  • Trailing edge stiffeners: reduce drag through the turn, holding power all the way round
