Reedin SuperNatural SSD 2026 Wing

The Reedin SuperNatural SSD 2026 is the wing that gets you out on the water on those light wind days. SSD stands for Short Span Design. For 2026 the wing moves onto a full carbon Ergoboom, and reworked construction takes up to another 200g off the weight against the 2025 SSD wing.  The result is a big wing that gets you foiling early without feeling like you have a big wing in your hands.

  • Light wind wing foiling wing
  • Short Span Design, three strut layout
  • Aerolite frame with UD Vectran stringers
  • Increased dihedral keeps the tips clear
  • Full carbon Ergoboom, pre-installed
  • Stays controllable as the wind builds
  • Beginner+ through intermediate to advanced riders

Performance & Feel

Power arrives early with the SSD. The boxed wingtips and shortened span concentrate the wings area where it does the most work, so you get power and lift in light winds that would otherwise leave you on the beach. A new outline for 2026 and a changed strut position sharpen that further, with the new profile csrrying extra low end.

With big wings usually there is a trade off in handling, and this is where the Short Span Design comes in. Bringing the span in pulls the tips closer to you, and the increased dihedral angle lifts them further from the water, so you're not catching a tip all the time. The three struts hold the canopy shape across the wider chord.

Weight is where you feel the difference in the 2026 SSD. Reworked construction and fewer leading edge segments take up to another 200g out over the previous version. Fewer joins means less tape and stitching through the middle of the wing, so the centre is stiffer as well as lighter. On a wing this size that matters more than on any other wing in the range, both carrying it at the beach and an hour into a session. The UD Vectran stringers inside the leading edge resist stretching rather than simply bending, so the frame holds the shape.

The full carbon Ergoboom pistol grip at the front gives balance for one-handed free-fly. Light winds have a habit of building and filling in, so the designers at Reedin tuned the canopy and profile so the SSD stays controllable as the wind builds, which means you can keep riding rather than coming in to swap onto something smaller.

Key Features

  • Short Span Design: a lengthened centre strut and two side struts shorten the wingspan and box off the wingtips
  • Three strut layout: keeps rigidity in a low aspect shape, for efficiency and power in light winds
  • Aerolite frame: high tenacity polyester leading edge and struts, allowing a better tensioned canopy at lower weight
  • UD Vectran stringers: Vectran yarns set inside the leading edge, resisting stretch so the frame holds its original shape over time
  • Lighter construction: fewer leading edge segments and reworked seams cut weight while improving load distribution
  • Updated shape: a new outline and moved strut position for a more efficient wing
  • Full carbon Ergoboom: curved boom with a pistol grip front section, size matched and pre-installed
  • Increased dihedral angle: lifts the wingtips further clear of the water, so a large wing stays manageable through turns
  • High tenacity trailing edge and lightweight soft battens: hold shape and keep the trailing edge from fluttering
