The Shinn Dalton is built for riders who want one board across multiple disciplines and won't settle for compromising on any of them. Freestyle, big air, boots, old school it genuinely crosses the genres without watering down what it does in each. Mark Shinn traces the Dalton's lineage directly to the Ronson, taking that board's performance DNA and pushing the construction and shape as far as they can go. This is the most versatile twintip in the Shinn range.

Performance & Feel

The Dalton sits above the Monker in the Shinn range as the board for higher energy riding. Where the Monker is built around plush, everyday freeride comfort, the Dalton is built for riders who ride with more aggression and want the board to keep up. If your sessions involve boots, unhooked tricks, big air or any combination of the above, this is the one to look at.

The construction is where it starts. Paulownia Light wood forms the core, then High Modulus Spread Tow Carbon is pressed over it. Spread tow carbon lays fibres flat rather than woven, which means a stiffer, lighter result for the same amount of material. The outcome is a board that responds immediately and pumps easily, with real-world durability underneath it.

The base design builds on the Monker's multi-ridge approach with a step further. Dual-track channels run the full length of the board, combined with double step tip channels, creating unrestricted water flow from nose to tail. The result is fast release, a knife-like upwind ability, and grip that doesn't come at the cost of looseness when you want it. It's genuinely quick off the water.

The increased length-to-width ratio is the boards standout feature. More length per width means more rail in contact with the water for better grip and edge hold, but because the carbon keeps the board so light, swing weight stays low. For big air and boots riding, that matters: you get the edge control of a longer board without the penalty in the air. The constant curve rocker ties it together, keeping consistent rail pressure through the chop and into big sends.
