SurfDek RELAY NFC Tag

The SurfDek RELAY NFC Tag gives whoever finds your board a way of getting it back to you. A 3cm NFC chip sits inside a 5cm circular pad that sticks on with 3M adhesive, it's only 4grams in weight and doesn't damage your board. Anyone who picks the board up taps their phone against the pad, gets taken straight to SurfDek's recovery page, and SurfDek handle putting the two of you in touch.

Worth being straight about what this is. There's no battery and no signal, so it isn't a GPS tracker and it won't tell you where your board has gone. It works the other way round: it makes a found board returnable, which covers the far more likely outcomes of kit left behind or washed up down the coast. It also means a board found on a beach can be traced back to a rider who's already home rather than starting a rescue/search. The tag needs registering with SurfDek using its serial number before use, so get that done before it goes near the water.
